Well it being difficult sounds like a challenge and I love challenges lol. We get pretty heavy rains at least a couple times a season, and I hear it beats them up .
I'm going to try for sure. I think I'll talk to someone from our Aug center. See if there is a hardy variety that might work. I just want it to be pink lol.

Peony is my favorite!!! I would love to grow them but, I've been told they are hard to grow in my area. ..insert sad face lol
