I keep finding these spots on my yellow knock out rose. Anyone have a clue what it is? I know it's not good. #help #knockout #rose #knockoutrose #rose-disease #disease

Check underneath leaves. Do you see any caterpillars or white flies or small dots which drop down once you remove from your fingers. Let me know what you found. Don't water the leaves

@gauravsh6 I will look. I know there is a beetle problem. I'll tell you what I find. The leaves are wet right now.
Here is the underside of the leaves near the weird growth in my knockout rose. Could this be a canker? Is that tiny white speck an aphid? #help #knockoutrose #rose #rose-advice #disease #canker #weird #pests
There are 2 types of pests possibly. One is caterpillar which is chewing leaves from side and making holes. Try to a pot them on the plant and remove them from plant. Second is Mealybugs, small white bluby insect which feeds on the leaves. Mealbugs lays eggs and you will see them as cotton fluffy round things underneath leaves.
Caterpillars are seasonal and can be seen more from June to Sep as that is their main egg laying season. Mealbugs can attack plant all round year and infestation can spread fast leading to leaves yellowing and falling. Try Neem Oil dilute in 1 litre water and spray every 3-4 days. Put some sticky paper on bottom of plant to trap caterpillars. But first remove all caterpillars from the plant what you see from a small stick.
@gauravsh6 I actually do use neem oil, but I have just started. I have only applied once, and that was a few weeks ago. I do know that beetles are a problem. I've seen some Japanese beetles, but the brown beetles LOVE all my plants and have been the worst pest of all this summer. My roses and zinnias have suffered the most. I'll spray more neem oil tonight and spray more frequently. I was not sure how often I could use it safely. Thank you! You've been so helpful!
Neem Oil should help for bettles also. Spray in evening rather than night on a cooler day. Add manure to soil as bettles also indicate poor soil health. Try an Organic pesticide if things don't improve by Neem Oil. Grub guards are needed if you have Bettle problem.
