8.6.2020 The lessons learnt regarding growing bell peppers. Planting little seedlings out in May is not a good idea- they don’t like the cold nights, or anything that isn’t extremely hot. The peppers in the greenhouse (6 pots) have larger pots, receive organic feed every now and then, they are growing beautifully (watered daily) and started making little peppers. Really pleased with these. Should I keep them in the greenhouse all summer? #realseeds #peppers
I keep mine in the greenhouse all summer.
@charlotte I’ll do the same. Will need re-potting into larger pots at some point...

How to save your own seeds from sweet peppers, parsley etc. Kindly provided by Real Seeds when I made my order of veg seeds with them. Thought you might all find useful! #sweet-pepper #saveseeds #gyo
I couldn’t get it to fit perfectly in our viewing page unfortunately.. but hopefully you can work out the essential bits
Great info Roxanna, thanks for sharing.
I thought I might try that this year.

This year growing vegetables with seeds from a local & organic family business called Real Seeds. So far all seedlings growing lovely, looking nice and healthy #realseeds #gyo
I found these guys online, I’m after some Greek Gigantes, but they’re not taking orders until Saturday 10am as they’re busy with getting orders out as only working one person shifts. They’re website’s great, so much good info.
@sieveheadsarah I heard about them through Riverford organic farmers, and decided to try this year. I instantly loved them - with the seeds came a note with detailed instructions on how to save your own seeds. They seem to have very strong organic do-it-yourself ethics, not profit driven, and I was well impressed. I’ll share in a separate post their note about saving seeds, it’s super useful to us all
That’s what I liked about them, they’re not all about profit which is great, what else did you get from them??
@sieveheadsarah Sorry for the late reply, I got sweet peppers, onions, parsley - I wish I had taken carrots & tomatoes from the same place too!
That’s ok, I forgot to order on Saturday so now my next chance is Wednesday from 5pm. I’m sure it’s not too late to get some, I’ve not sown any of my veg seed yet 🙄
@sieveheadsarah Not at all, now’s a good time. 🙂 Actually, it’s a great time to gyo vegetables considering what we’re going through...
Exactly, I’ve just got an allotment plot with my friend, we have lots to do as it’s been left for 2yrs 🙄 but there’s lots of raspberry canes, rhubarb and plum, pear, apple & cherry tree there too, looking forward to growing our own veg.
@sieveheadsarah well done!!

Mixed peppers, having another go this year after a fail last year. I think I planted them out when they were too small. Fingers crossed 🤞
#peppers #grown-from-seed doing very well in the greenhouse. Unlike the sad ones planted out.
They are definetly happier in the greenhouse. I'm picking loads now.
