Hi, this is a rhododendron

Hi folks, thanks for the comments. I think it's important to mention where I live and what area this plant is growing. I live in high desert (5300 ft.) In New Mexico, USA. I have since been able to identify the plant. It is a "Mexican Bird of Paradise".
