Not sure about this ID. It is out along the hiking trail and I have never seen them with this color of foliage.
Looks like Erigeron also known as fleabane. 🌞
@sunlovin Do you know if Erigeron ever has this color of foliage? Also this thing was as tall as me!
I have seen it grow tall in New York about 5” but I don’t remember seeing reddish foliage. It might be a variety local to your area. I’m just making a suggestion as to what it might be. 🤔🌞
I feel sure you are correct I went back down that trail this afternoon to look at it again and it had all been mowed down. Ugh!!
