Had my present garden for about five years. It is a continuing 'work in progress'.

Sowed far too many of these Cornflower seeds earlier and they all thrived. I've scattered the seedlings right through the garden and today the first flowers have appeared.

Yes, they are, Hayley @hayleyaj I bought a plant last year which is now huge and then had a pack of seeds from somewhere which is where this one came from. Weirdly the big plant I bought and this year's plants don't look much alike, certainly in foliage. I must check back through my plant photos on here as I'm sure last years one is in there.

Is the foliage silver tinged green?

A scabious produces multiple flower heads and comes back from the main plant, it's a perennial. These, cornflowers are annuals but self seed 😊

Ah, yes, you're right, Hayley @hayleyaj I've checked back and found the seed packet too - cornflower black ball; whereas last year's plant is labelled Scabious black balls. Just got my black balls muddled up then :)
