Crocus 'Wit' - I can't find any verification for this on the internet but have an empty packet and plant label from different sources giving Wit as the name, so would be interested to know if anyone else has them?
#crocuswit
Thanks Jayne @jaynehynesburton
@richard.spicer.7906 might know
Not a clue but it's lovely 🤔👍
I think Wit is just the dutch word for 'White', did the bulbs come directly from Holland maybe? It might just be a white unnamed vernus hybrid. When the flowers open, see if you can get another photo as there is a variety called Jeanne d'Arc which has two/three thin lilac stripes inside the flower. It also has bright orange and frilly stigmas
I posted my Jeanne d'Arc yesterday Sue, have a look and see if it's the same @richard.spicer.7906 👍
Thanks Richard you've solved it for sure @richard.spicer.7906 - I'll delete it from my plant list as I've already got a general crocus entry 👍
Thanks @pelly all sorted, has also increased my knowledge of Dutch 100%, wish I'd done more languages at school, especially Latin!👩🎓
Glad to help Sue. I should have recognised it in the first place 🙄😂
Hooray, have just found the old packaging from some of my white crocuses and it reads Crocus vernus Jeanne d'Arc @richard.spicer.7906 @pelly @jaynehynesburton 👍
Yay 🎉🎉🎉
Perfection 🥰
