"Operation Banana" - goodness knows if I'm doing this right but I've managed to slice one of the pups out of the main tub and re-pot it on its own. Now for the next one ..... 😂🍌

Thanks it was a bit weird as it just seemed to be one big lump of woody material which they all seem to be sprouting from. I sliced it all up with a spade and ended up with five nice small plants. Leaving what's left in the tub as there seem to be more shoots forming 🌱 @joannie.a @italydiva @pelly

Poor old banana was a victim of the freezing temperatures, despite over-wintering in the shed. Very relieved to see five little pups sprouting up so hopefully I may be able to pot them up 🤞🍌

So glad you’ve got a good show of pups. At least with this variety not all is lost even if the mother plant succumbs. I lost my Ensete this year…sadly it doesn’t give out pups so have decided not to replace it. Too much work with decreasing odds on survival sadly 😔

I think the way the weather is now everyone is having to adapt accordingly. It’s so sad when you lose plants you have loved and nurtured. But hopefully there’s still plenty of joyous options out there 😀
