Planted spuds today 14th April 2021 #gyo
Good chits Angela....👍🏼
Fingers crossed my spuds in the ground since March will survive all these frosts we’re still having in London. Angela, your idea of planting them mid April was less risky!

Easter Saturday it's potato time, in pots this year to utilise space in the veg garden #grow-your-own
I did some last year in a grow bag but only got 5 potatoes out of it 😕
That's a shame, I've done them in pots a few times before and they've cropped quite well, I like it as you can tip the pots out at the end and get the last few spuds @ublaszko
I'm not sure if I didn't feed them enough or if they got too much water. The actual leaf growth was tall probably 1.3m so it could be there was too much or the wrong kind of fertiliser. I mixed multipurpose compost with well rotted manure 50/50.
Yes Urszula that does sound like they made a lot of foliage at the expense of potatoes. I do a bit of a mixture, garden soil and manure to start them off and usually cover the growth with compost every time it pokes through until it gets to the top of the tub. I like Rocket as an early variety, maybe what you grew does make a lot of top growth. Worth persevering, new potatoes are so delicious @ublaszko
First ones for dinner today 😋 #gyo #kitchengarden
Oh yum 🤤 with plenty of butter…..🥔🧈
