@cjh123 hi carol do you cover the base of the canna in winter ? Also do l have to cut down the leaves to the base

I have only had this one for a year, kept the base of it covered with bubble wrap in the Winter. I dont remember cutting the leaves back - sorry new to this type of plant @gwenniemom

@cjh123 @gwenniemom I always bought my cannas in during the winter time 🥶 then at the beginning of spring I would cut them right back to just about the soil level and then start to slowly introduce watering. I’d only bring them back outside when the risk of frost as gone. By then you should already have started to see new growth appearing. Every 2/3 years I’d split and divide which gave me more plants. As baby 👶🏻 shoots grew
