I moved into my home in Nov 2017. Both gardens need a lot of attention. I have big plans but only have a small budget. A keen gardener and DIY'er ☺

Hmm that's a rather interesting pear shape...No rude comments please! I guess pears come in all different shapes and sizes too! 😂😂😂 #gyo

Well that's one idea I hadn't thought of Elaine. I hope yours straighten out a bit by the time they're ripe! 🤣🤣 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

They won't be ready until nearer autumn. I have a few pear trees too but not as well advanced as yours but more fruit than usual this year.

Oooh nice Jeff @jeatacake! Do you have other types of fruit trees as well? I'm not sure how old this one is. I know that it was fully laden with ripe pears when we viewed the house in September last year!

Yes, several apple trees & a cherry tree. Some small ones too, like blueberry, blackberry, gooseberry & gojiberry. Those last 3 are very recent additions. Those pears of yours will be delicious when ripe 👍

What a great mix of fruit to harvest when ready! I've recently bought some fruit shrubs but at the moment the ground is too hard for me to dig and prepare so they're all stuck in large pots at present 😣 @jeatacake

It's been like that here until last Thursday night, since when we've had 2 heavy downpours. It's helped a lot & saved many things which were on the brink. Much cooler here now, more like back to normal weather!

Ah that's great news for your plants. Unfortunately we've had no rain yet, let alone a downpour! 😓 I see you're much further up North than me though. I'm on the south coast. @jeatacake

Yes, always drier down there. Prolonged dry spells are almost unknown here.

I must admit it's been lovely being able to recover from my op in the garden. I do feel for the plants though and dreading the water bill now lol

It's our first year in our new home and we're looking forward to trying out the fruit from the existing pear tree!
