Camellia japonica 'April Dawn'

Got this in the mail a few days ago so I potted it up today. Can't wait for those pretty blooms🌸 #newaddition #camellia

You might need to wait a couple of years for the flowers 😂👍🏻 I love my camellias. The flowers almost look like roses.

Judging by the size of them they will flower in 2-3 years time. The pointy buds are leaf buds and the flower buds have a rounded tip. They can take up to 7 years to flower so actually 2-3 years is not too bad.

The foliage is lovely, isn't it? 😍😍 I'm trying to grow my camellias in the ground for the first time and so far they look ok. I'm still waiting for one of them to have its first flower and I think it's been 3 years already. But much cheaper to buy a young plant and wait a couple of years. That way you can get more plants 😂😂
