First photo on here and it's our newly planted 'prunus kanzan' cherry tree. Reused bricks from our old wall for the surround. Thinking of planting some perennials in beside it but too scared it might be detrimental to growth. Fingers crossed it's still here next year!

Welcome to Gardentags Craig. I've got a Prunus Kanzan and have various things planted round the base and it seems to be ok if that helps. The leaves go a fabulous colour in Autumn and the Spring blossom is lovely too. @craigh7
Thanks @lilybee . I think it looks great with the stones but a burst of colour at the base would be treat. Think I'll let it settle in this year first as I'm not 100% confident in my abilities!
Welcome to GardenTags! You could always just put a few little annuals in just to have something. The kind you get in packs of 6 at the supermarket or GC 🤔 At least until you decide what you want to have there permanently
Welcome to GTags Craig ...enjoy this brilliant app 👋🙂🍒
Just found this article which you might find useful https://www.saga.co.uk/magazine/home-garden/gardening/advice-tips/planting/how-and-what-to-plant-under-trees
Thank you @flof1952 !
Thanks Jacqueline @awomanonabike . This is what I'm after. Will let you know what we decide to go for.
You’re welcome 😊
Can anyone suggest anything I can do to stop our #cherryblossomtree from being eaten and browning leaves? It's otherwise got very good growth and seems to be enjoying It's spot where we planted a few months back. Thanks in advance!
You always should identify the muncher before trying to address a problem, see if u can see what's causing the damage and figure out if it's only cosmetic or actually harming the tree😊 good luck👍
Thank you @cyndi . You are a star. I will check that out. We live in Scotland so getting enough water is normally not an issue 😂 . Thanks @tinaaune I haven't been able to see anything having a bite as yet. Will keep an eye out. It may well be cosmetic but would hate to think it was because I wasn't taking care of it particularly if it's something simple I could be doing.
