@Denise16 i only got it in summer last year, but it has got bigger. I just give everything, a good dose of chicken pellets every autumn, and spring, and an occasional feed with tomatoe food. When i remember 🙄

This is very pretty. I don't know about the hybrid varieties, but the regular ol' Japanese barberry is extremely invasive

Pretty lethal barbs in them though 😂 hence the name. When you prune them make sure you pick up every piece and dispose of it

A stunning colour 💕 Is the mesh to protect Frank or you! I remember when my little girl was learning to ride her bike, yep the only prickly ant in the garden she fell off the bike into and it was one of these 👆,
