Hopefully the first of many. I left these in the ground over winter, and theyve come back great.

Oh it’s gorgeous...I left mine in for a few years now....I think it’s because we’ve had mild winters...💖💖

I leave mine in the ground too for the same reason as @scaryskates!!

I lifted some that I didn't want to risk, others I wasn't too bothered about I just cut down and put a good mulch over to protect them. The only difference is the ones I lifted I could start off early and take cuttings, the ones in the ground are much later but doing well 👍🏻

Does anyone else leave dahlias in the ground over winter. Ive had more success doing this, than digging them up 🤔

I do Dave ....I've left 9 in the garden for the last 2 years now. No sign of growth yet though 🤔

I do Dave I just pile a load of bark on top 👍🏼

I do the same as Elaine on a few. @davewrightjoinerygooglemail.co

I have some in a tub that I left there 3 years ago and they've come up ever since. I think the tub they're in is quite thick plastic which helps protect them. @linfoster

I often do but I did lift them last year as I wanted to move them. I don't cover mine though, I'm sure I should do 🙄

Left some in but dug some up can't see any that I left in coming up yet hopefully still time as I've not got enough to fill gaps where they are 😕

I've been thinking of trying that. 2 out of 5 I pulled up then potted earlier are still showing no signs of growth.
