Thank you @SikoMa @cyndi @joanboston @harebell @johnson8301 and @mrahwkns for your thoughts on this. Looking at both I really think it could be either!! Which is most likely in a Uk garden? This was taken in a friend's garden early today so I can't get another photo sadly.
Ah I see Gleditsia and Robinia are both species of "Locust" tree! I hadn't realised that so thanks @cyndi, I am sure my friend will be happy just knowing the common name, but I will pass this on. Thanks again 😊
Hi @honeybee3 thanks for asking. However I am not a rose expert sadly... but I know someone who may be able to help! @mikethegardener would you be able to answer this question please?
Help me identify this plant - dos anyone have any idea what this small tree/large shrub is please? Thanks x
It looks a bit like a locust tree to me. 🤔🤔🤔
We have a tree very similar. We were suggested it could be Robinia?
It looks like robinia 🤔
Robinia , i was just looking at one last week in the gc 😊
Hi David, My guess is it is Gleditzia triacanthos Sunburst, looks like it has a bipinnate leaf not just pinnate like that of Robinia Frisia

Hi David. I have a black locust tree, Robinia pseudoacacia. Mine does not get this yellow. This might be a honey locust tree, Gleditsia triacanthos.
Hi David I planted a cut of roses it's grown about 3 feet and looks healthy but not flowering have you got any ideas ?
