Help me identify this plant. I have been tending it and am relieved to see flowers ( not a weed!)
It's Selfheal (Prunella vulgaris) a common wild flower
@tiggrx Is that a polite way of saying 'weed'?!!
Whether it's a weed or not is up to you. If you like it keep it! Personally I let it grow in the lawn but weed it out of flowerbeds.
Well I've just realised why it was familiar. It infested our inherited old lawn before we levelled, drained and returfed @tiggrx
