Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood'

Such striking colour!

Any Acer experts know what’s wrong with my Bloodgood ? It’s really not well. One of the main stems has lost colour/bark and has dropped ALL leaves from stems leading from the afflicted one. 😔😔😔

@pelly @davosteel74 It looks like verticillium wilt, the leaves go floppy and the stems discolour and die back. Not a lot you can do if it’s affected most of the plant. If it’s in a pot take it out and dispose of it, sterilise the pot and start again, sorry 😐🍁google it for full info🍁

@acermad Thanks. I reached the same conclusion earlier and cut out the damaged stem. Do you think the whole plant is lost ? The remainder looks nice and healthy (although the affected site was pretty large). Better to get rid or give the rest a chance ?
