I also bought a new clematis. I seem to kill every clematis that's not in a pot I think, I don't know why or how 🤷 I'm going to try yet again. I'd like to think my other clematis are all just not showing new growth yet. Time will tell if I'm an actual seriel killer I guess....

I think out of around 15 I have 3 all spring evergreen still alive Jason, I try my best but they hate me @hebelover I'm pleased I'm not alone

I got a great book from the library on clematises called Clematis The Essential Guide by Ruth and Jonathan Gooch (owners of Thorncroft Clematis Nursery in Norfolk). and it's really helped me Deborah and Jason @hebelover it's well worth a look 👍

I'll have a look for it Jane, I've found another alive today 🥳 @pelly I know when I planted them last year I didn't plant them any deeper so I guess that hasn't helped

I don't have much luck either though I've got one of the viticella varieties which are supposed to be tougher and that's come back every year so might be worth researching those, have a look on the Taylors website for ideas.
