Finally I have some of my first ever #grown-from-seed tomatoes A slug ate the first one. I had some on my salad for dinner. Not exactly a glut but it's a start.

Don’t tell anyone but I quite like how everything slows down in winter and it takes me a while to get going again 😂

I say to Mr F - I don't like tomatoes. So he says - why do you grow them. I say - because they are delicious

I seem to have been waiting an age for these. Finally I can see one riping. Is anyone else finding them slow going this year?

Good morning from a wet and windy Cumbria. Seems like a good day to catalogue my #seedling . My first ever tomatoes 🍅 only 3 germinated but I'm learning. Don't use the heated propagator nexr year.

Oh thank you @charlotte that's really kind. I don't normally do the veg, and my seed growing skills need lots of work

I find it all hit and miss. Last year my peppers were great. This year they are a struggle. Last year my aubergines were a failure. This year had 100% germination.

It's strange isn't it? I must admit we usually cheat and buy plants from the GC, but it's time to be a bit braver for us I think @charlotte

I’ve never had any heating on in my gh at all but we did have a good start with the weather…I’ve just brought the tomatoes in doors because of the cold nights

My greenhouse is not heated Elaine but it’s north facing so sun only really starts to get to it in March. I’m reliant on 2 upstairs windowsills this early on to start seeds off. The heated propagator is because I can’t stand any heating in our bedroom 😁 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

I suck at growing seeds Deborah! A friend has started some tomato and herb seeds for me because, I suck at growing seeds! I am planting more veg this year than last tho and I've purchased a dehydrator. Food prices are getting so high I think I need to start sticking up on things I can grow
