Mmm think may need to re pot first thing tomorrow.. I have some John innes 3 I used for my magnolias think need to mix some in the pot or may just take one out and put it in the front garden..?? Dilemmas???

You could just take some of the compost out from the existing pot and add John Innes 3 on top. I think the main thing with peonies is to make sure they're not buried too deep.

I've just read in an almanac that peonies are exceptionally hardy and grow well in the garden as long as they are not waterlogged. I'd add plenty of compost in the planting hole, just in case.

We have sandy soil which should hopefully suit these.. Need to just get them planted will add some John innes in the ground prior.. going to leave one in a pot . first job in the morning thanks Urszula @ublaszko 😊

Jane I've been wondering the same as the grounds so damp. Thinking to myself if I dig a hole and fill with fresh compost wouldn't that be ok? I just dont know🤔 @pelly

Ah, yes I’m the same Denise, I’ve got a lot in the greenhouse ready to go in the ground. I usually put some compost in my planting holes anyway. I might see what it’s like tomorrow but it’s going to rain over night. @Denise16 🤔🤔
