I wonder if they are Saffron crocus? They would tend to flower in autumn - mine are just opening now 🤔
@richard.spicer.7906 it did cross my mind that they'd be autumn flowering. The box stated spring flowering, but they were from Asda so I'm surprised they weren't something totally unrelated like tulips.
