Creating my own little paradise here in Newport, S. Wales.
My piers is not doing well. Any tips? It's currently in an Easterly aspect with shade from about midday. I recently repotted it as I thought it wasn't getting enough drainage.
Prefers acid soil. Is it in an ericaceous compost @DickieLeysh ?
I feed mine well to with ericaceous plant food in the growing season 😊
Thanks both. @mikethegardener yes it's in ericacious and I've been using an ericacious feed once every 3 weeks or so.
I noticed that the soil was pretty much sodden all winter. Hopefully my new soil mix will help that.
...also pine needles as a mulch once a year does the trick
Thanks @robska. I'm assuming you'd do this in the autumn?

You could apply the pine needles any time. I'd apply some blood and bone first and water in thoroughly so there's no nitrogen drawdown.

Thank You!
