I'm looking around and not seeing anything that looks just like this. Either the spines are way too long, the ridges are too deep, the skin is the wrong color, something. Probably the closest is Echinopsis haematantha but that's not quite right either. It would help a lot if I could see it much, much closer

Thanks @emch this is my 3rd time trying to ID this. No one has quite got it right so far. Peanut cactus it’s the closest so far but this is way too thick for that.

OK, let's start alllll the way back at the beginning. How sure are you that it's NOT a peanut cactus, and why? Is there a maximum size on those?

Peanut cactus, there kind of skinny @emch mine are as big around as a silver dollar maybe more for the largest one.

I have one similar too, I have not found the ID 🌞
