@latebloomer took about 10+ tries before one rooted. Find woody type plants diff to propogate. Which is why I've started to teach myself tissue culturing!! I actually enjoy reading the scientific papers about it, unlike dentistry ones!! 😃
My wish is to retire (or at least semi) in next 9-10 years and move to tropics, poss back to Oz or Costa Rica!! If someone could just invent another day in the week for now, it would help immensely to do each of the businesses I do presently!! 😎😎
@brightcolours do you grow, or know anyone growing Aussie finger limes?? I'm desperate to seek out some Budwood/scions for grafting in the near future. I've located one supplier in Oz, but tremendously expensive!! 😎
@latebloomer are they as tasty as they look?? They are very difficult to get in UK and I've researched that growing from seed not good. I've got a small collection of poncifurus trifoliata growing now ready to do some citrus grafting and I know then it should keep the plant dwarfed and early fruiting.
@latebloomer actually plant tissue culturing shocked me that my scientific background immensely helped me understand it. Also as you need to work under sterile conditions etc. I have all the equipment already!! I have a spare old autoclave (steriliser for surgical instruments) also all the scalpels, forceps etc. I also have a good understanding of how to research and read scientific papers.....and these ones don't send me to sleep!! 😃😃👍
@brightcolours from what I understand Budwood/scions are OK to send to UK without phytosanitary docs, as long as no leaves (which is best anyway as stops the branches dehydrating). I think they just need wrapping carefully and if poss sprayed with a fungicide and express mail. Obviously if you can arrange I will cover all costs and pay for any plant material!! 👍
@latebloomer number one I don't have kids, get bored watching tv and to old now to go clubbing anymore and can't take hangovers at all now!! The simple pleasure of seeing a beautiful flower open, seed germinate or fruit appear still blows my mind!! 😃
@latebloomer I presume in around 3-4 years, but I have a large tree already, which I'll put pics up when I can move it (my back....!) . These seedlings I'll prob graft so they fruit quicker when around 6-12 months old 😃
Small plant from a cutting from my larger "Black Star" Surinam Cherry tree. Was a tricky one to get to root!! 😃

You could change career but less lucrative?

My sister might grow them, I'm not sure. Could ask? What conditions need to be met for importation to UK??

Too old to go clubbing! I'm sure your friends would disagree.
