Hi friends, please id this plant. It is a shrub and occasionally produces scarlet small tubular flowers at the tip.

Hi Uma, that plant came up before for ID @karmey posted in mid summer aus. I dont think we ever found a name for it. Maybe check with her 🤔

Yes that's it Uma #graptophyllumpictum there are a few different colours green/cream chocolate/cream tricolour and variants of those colours, is yours in a pot or in the ground? @drumadixit #caricatureshrub

In the ground Karen and in shade. It's growing tall, if I prune it, it should develop lateral branches right? My mom has the one that you have, very pretty! @karmey

Yes Uma grows very tall but easy to keep to the size you want. And gets lots of l-branches so you can make a nice little bush, it's so pretty and birds and bees love it 😊 @drumadixit
