8Jun17. How exciting my newly id'd M. Sphaerica has buds. Wrong timing though. It's started raining here! #mammillaria #cactusflower

@gjones almost 4 months. Most of the plants with well developed root system thrive in the rains. Some don't make it. But it's Nature, so no complaints!

Either it could be barrel cactus or amusingly. Kindly post a photo of its flower. It will help to confirm its id.

Without knowing what the flower looks like; I've had a wee look online and two that look similar (to me) are ferocactus wislizeni and dolichothele sphaerica. Hope this helps you get closer to what you're looking for.
