My oldest Black Prince. It’s been through a lot! Many infestations and beheadings. It’s been trying to flower and is no longer growing itself. It stopped having a center to its rosette last year and it’s as if it won’t continue after these last two leaves are gone. But maybe it will flower and live on through it’s seeds. #echeveria-blackprince #blackprince #echeveria #floweringsucculent April 14, 2019

I find the black princes are prone to trouble. Mine have never ended well lol

@Dazenrue2 yes I never want another one again! These, PVN, and Echeveria tolimanensis are all yummy to pests. I’m sick of them! The props I have of them are going out in the garden all summer and I will not be concerned for them!

My Black Prince bush. A few prop leaves turned into—I’m counting 12—Black Princes! Also a couple Vera Higgins in there too.

More black prince props. The bunch over on the right has 7 props from one leaf. The leaf has finally shriveled.

My black prince got some buddies in his pot yesterday. I think they balance his colors. I also just got top dressing for the first time over the weekend!

I use common crushed granite meant to be used as chicken grit! Less expensive than the decorative rocks, stones or sand!

I just got aquarium rocks, I wouldn’t know where to get crushed granite! @KariSamuel

Farm Implement Stores, Pet Food Stores and some garden centers! In our pet food store (Mounds) they have it near the farmer section for horses, pigs, sheep and chickens. Look in the area where bagged bird food is.

Will Their pups/babies change the color from green to black.?? @ecoami

@muhammadabbas the green ones aren’t babies, they’re Crassula rupestris. But black prince babies are green and will eventually turn black with enough sunlight after about a year of growth.

I was looking through old pictures of my plants and I was amazed at my Black Prince’s transformation! This is a 5 month difference but it turned black after I understood its light needs around two months. #blackprince #beforeandafter

My other pot of black prince babies. These don’t get as much direct light under the grow light as the other pot. But they’re still growing strong!

My #blackprince babies are growing strong! There’s a couple guests in the pot but we’ll see what they are when they grow up. 🤩

My black prince! It was green all summer until I moved it to a sunnier spot. I'm loving the color 🖤

I killed my black prince. 😣

@smileeguy I bought a large one earlier in the summer that was about to bloom. I guess it had some root rot that went on unnoticed and it died about a month ago. I have many props from it though. What I love about succulents is that they are a constant science project to see what works and what doesn't.
