Echeveria Blue Heron

My blue heron is growing nicely! But a two inch prop from it has mealybugs! Ugh it’s a battle I feel like I’m losing! #blueheron #echeveria #succulent

i'm fighting that battle with you, ami! i've tried so many things 😫 mealies are the worst...

@lissoms I’ve resorted to using imidacloprid on some of my plants. I wipe down every plant I suspect has it almost daily with rubbing alcohol on q-tips.

@ecoami, @lissoms, I found an outbreak on a few of my plants. I went kind of nuclear with rubbing alcohol. Used a spray bottle and gave each plant a bath, including soil. Most of the plants are fine, but my Bear Paws and Frosty didn't react so well.

@crosma03 yeah my shaviana had it the worst and it was right about to flower. They hid so well in the shaviana’s frills that it was terrible. I don’t think the part I beheaded will survive. My first beheading that’s not working!

I'm pretty sure my Shaviana is what brought them in. I soaked it down to the stem with alcohol.
