Gardening in mostly deep shade in Zone 6. My passion is adding more native plants to my landscape & clearing out the foreign invasives.

This is what pulling this invasive does to you. 9 hours later I'm still visibly scratched up #killitwithfire

I feel your pain. We have it here too and it’s awful stuff.

I started wearing rubber dishwashing gloves and using a set of pliers to pull poison ivy so I touch it as little as possible. Maybe that would work for you? There are also rose-pruning gloves that cover forearms. Hope you heal up soon. That weed is a nightmare.

Weirdly, I didn't feel this at all until I was returning cans and had to reach into the LaCroix boxes over and over, reopening the scrapes. I am expected to live @brightcolours @cheriej @sushiwaitress lol

I spent time today pulling out what seemed like a whole lot of the dreaded green Velcro ball plant. Most of it is still there, but progress is progress #killitwithfire

I touched some of this today and was surprised to find that at this time of year, at least, they're soft and not at all like Velcro. #curiouscases

Oh wow, I've taken a bunch of this along on my pant legs. Never knew it's name.

Whoever naked it must have hated her landlady, @sushiwaitress -- can you imagine sleeping in it and waking up covered in those green Velcro balls?

Close-up of the seed heads of this noxious weed which gives it the local nickname "green velcro ball plant." They are the nemesis of anyone wearing shoes with laces. #killitwithfire

Looks like a treasure trove to me! Clean them up an use them as prop bottles! The flat Jack bottles would be sweet for perching an avocado pit on top without impaling it on toothpicks. I use mini booze bottles for storing seeds! You can tie a nice tag label around the necks and display them on a shelf for a sweet apothecary look. If you want the seeds to not be exposed to light then you can paint the inside of the bottles first by dripping some paint inside and rolling them around to coat.

Not an option now, @beatnikcrab -- I laid them out on the strip of mowed grass for this photo op, went to put the shovel away and when I came back they had vanished. Exactly the same thing happened with the other cache of bottles I photographed after finding them salted all over the gulch -- 38 altogether, not counting the beer cans and water bottles.

So weird! Apparently glass bottles are in demand..? 🤨🤷🏻‍♀️

I suspect the boss of the business next door found them and confronted an employee about them, or whoever's been nipping on the job finally put them in the Dumpster where they belonged, @beatnikcrab LOL
