Help me identify this plant. It's #notmyplant #notmyphoto and it looks for all the world like a baby rubber plant, but the owner says it smells like brown sugar. Others can detect this scent so she is not hallucinating. Does anyone know of a plant that looks AND smells the way I describe? PlantID

It's definitely a peperomia obtusifolia variagata. Baby rubber plant. Idk what she means by brown sugar but that's what it is

@heatherdirtyhands could there be a fungus or something with a sweet smell? I looked up plants with that fragrance and none are remotely like this..🤔🤔🤔

Did someone maybe amend the soil with something? Like cinnamon or something? Maybe get perfume on it lol. Not sure about the fungus idea....not very knowledgeable about that.

No one lol I was thinking cinnamon possibly or something else that smells sweet. All I know is that that plant is a peperomia obtusifolia and tbh I never found a reason to smell it lol so I can't rule out that it smells at all. Maybe she was getting a wiff of something else
