Even with a big section cleared you can't see thru the rushes to the building I live in... #killitwithfire

This dispirited tuft is all that remains of the Plains of Leng... #killitwithfire

What's left of the Gorge of Eternal Peril. I can cut it down in a day. Area to be replanted with red osier dogwood #killitwithfire

This tuft is called "Treasure Island." If it weren't Easter I'd be out there razing it #killitwithfire

This new construction close to where I live has carefully left the invasive reeds untouched... #killitwithfire

Of course, tear out the trees and such but leave the invasives. It that area considered wetland?

This is the edge of a strip mall overlooking Ore Creek, so it is probably not only wetland but PROTECTED wetland @lesliecole49

Another terrible photo I took today! Hard to see but if you squint you can make out where I sort of bashed a path through the dreaded reeds in the Gorge of Eternal Peril. Wanted to see how hard it would be when it came time to cut it down. Not bad at all, as it turned out. I was afraid it would be waist-deep with slime. #killitwithfire

When I started to clear the Gorge of Eternal Peril I realized it will keep that name long after the reeds are gone...there's poison ivy everywhere you look LOL #killitwithfire

Grrrr

Hey, at least poison ivy is a #midwesternnative am I right?

Heyyy I just realised I have a gorge of eternal peril TOO! I'm stealing your name ok ok

Well you can expect an angry letter from the Pythons @sushiwaitress -- I stole it from MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL

The Plains of Leng, as I call the remaining patch of this stuff to the R of the deck, are a little smaller today. I cut a swath all the way around the back so you can walk it without a machete. #killitwithfire

It may be hard to see but the Northeast and Northwest Passages have circled around and met under the assault of my hedge trimmer. There is only a smallish island left in the middle. You wouldn't believe how much poison ivy I found back here, along with Sensitive and Ostrich pherns. #killitwithfire

I'd like to @columbiariver but I'm using Round Up..

The spawn of my foe, trimmed off the canes and held captive in a 55-gallon garbage sack. I sure didn't get every seed head but it's not a bad start. There must be hundreds of little floaty seeds on each plume. #killitwithfire
Looks like a touch job, but you’ve done well to contain the potential new offspring! What do you now do with these?
I put them under layers of other garbage and put them in the complex's Dumpster, @richard.spicer.7906 where they will have no way of sprouting
Great job. Good riddance to all those seeds
