Do the spines stab into the tomatoes that do grow on them? I wonder why poisonous berries and fruits even grow at all?

Mine hasn't even bloomed yet so I have no clue @heatherdirtyhands ...my theory is that being poisonous AND bristling with #wickedspines ensures that the seeds have the best chance of growing into new plants.

@crabby58 they are very erratic sprouters. The Internet informs me they can take months to start growing. I am lucky to have the one shoot!
