This is why they call it a "porcupine" tomato and not a "kissably soft" one LOL #wickedspines

W😳W, never knew or seen was such a plant, silly question..does it get tomatoes? 🤪

hkyfvr
I would need a lot of bandaids handy if I had this one. Ouch. 😧

emch
@crabby58 it does make handsome, golden cherry tomatoes, but they are quite poisonous so ☠

crabby58
😳k... That's one to skip 😅 interesting, though.

Wow! Like it's warning you.
Now making side shoots! #interestingfoliage
What a unique appearance with thorns from the veins! 😲 handle with care😉
Are tomatos edible?
Nope @rikkie these are grown strictly for their looks. The tomatoes are quite poisonous ☠☠☠ Say @txgardener are you seeing any fruits on your plants yet?
Very #unique 💚
Actually i have one fruit that is growing right now. About the size of a dime. Cant wait to post when it gets a little bigger. 👍
@emch oh, strictly for its looks😲 that's interesting. Thanks a lot.
Do the spines stab into the tomatoes that do grow on them? I wonder why poisonous berries and fruits even grow at all?
Mine hasn't even bloomed yet so I have no clue @heatherdirtyhands ...my theory is that being poisonous AND bristling with #wickedspines ensures that the seeds have the best chance of growing into new plants.
