Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum 'Hope' syn. Philodendron bipinnatifidum 'Hope', Philodendron selloum 'Hope'

Help me identify this plant. I think it's probably a philodendron, but which kind? Ginormous leaves, as long as my hand and forearm. PlantID #notmyplant #interestingfoliage

Looks like Philodendron Hope to me @docthrill @emch Very similar looking to Swiss Cheese Plant, except the leaves don’t connect at the tips on the Philodendron Hope. I have a fairly large one, myself. Very good plants.

@emch I just meant compared to the Monstera deliciousa. The Philodendron Hope is also known as a Tree Philodendron, since they can get very large. I don’t have a recent photo of mine right now, but a little further back on my profile , you can see a very large one in my local Downtown.

@emch It looks just like my tree philodendron when it was a wee babe. I also recently posted a picture of him. (We call him “The Big Guy”)

"When it was a wee babe" @cheriej ? This thing has already taken over the lobby at the Edward Jones office where I snapped this. How much bigger does it get?

Huge!!! I am 5’7 the tallest leaf stand a few inches over my head, but it is WIDE. I couldn’t get all 6 of its leaves into the frame on the picture I posted. It’s probably 5’ wide at least.

@emch I meant to include that it will develop a trunk and the leaves will all sprout from the top of it. It will also have aerial roots that are kind of cool!
