Gardening in mostly deep shade in Zone 6. My passion is adding more native plants to my landscape & clearing out the foreign invasives.

The "after" photo shows both my Lady Fern and "Sweet Kate" exhumed from under a dozen lilies of the valley, accidentally split in two and reset in the same spot under the gas meter. Let's see how they do now.

Can you see "Sweet Kate" in the middle of this thicket? Neither can I. Being too contagious to go to my mom's place today I decided to set some things to rights in the flowerbeds...

Rescued this struggling beauty from under the electrical meter. It is now set in right by the front door. #midwesternnative

I am trying again with this plant after killing 2 of them in the past. This is now in the very shadiest spot I have, under the electrical meter, less than 2 feet away from the Autopsy Hostas. The previous Kates seemed overcome by a couple hours of direct sunlight a day and I still have reservations putting it here because zero sun stops them blooming. It shriveled in the car on the way home as if proximity to me were poisonous...

I thought spiderwort preferred full sun? 🤔 wonder what's up with this?

I have always been told they like half sun or bright shade. But this variety has very pale leaves and I assumed that it made the plant more sun sensitive @lesliecole49 -- no other spiderwort has given me a moment's trouble...
