Gardening in mostly deep shade in Zone 6. My passion is adding more native plants to my landscape & clearing out the foreign invasives.

I've had so much trouble finding cattails that aren't marked PRIVATE PROPERTY! NO TRESPASSING! that I finally paid cash on the nail for some seeds. Very pleased with the free Cosmos seeds they threw in but alarmed at the ideal germination temp noted on the Cattail seeds. Gotta be a misprint LOL #swamptastic #midwesternnative #101uses

I don't, and cattails grow absolutely fine in Michigan without them @columbiariver !

We had cattails growing in the ditches a block away. So many of them as it is swampy there. Glad you got some seeds. Can’t see myself trudging through the ditches. Lol 🤎

Well I have been romping through the swamp all season @hkyfvr in the name of Phragmites eradication...

Those European Common Reeds have been invading beaches and wetlands for decades here in Ontario. Cannot believe they can grow up to 20 feet tall and that some garden centres still sell them as ornamental grasses. Best of luck tackling your problem with them. 👍🤞🤞

Making steady progress @hkyfvr -- but I was astounded when an onlooker tried to warn me off my task saying " this is a protected wetland!" Listen, Mac, I'm the only one protecting it!
