Gardening in mostly deep shade in Zone 6. My passion is adding more native plants to my landscape & clearing out the foreign invasives.

New home for my #midwesternnative find; the owner of Specialty Growers in Howell, MI says this is "not very fussy" and is happy in sun or part shade, in wettish or dry soil. It will also give me a badly-needed tall flowering plant for a dull spot in the main bed. Perfect for moi LOL

Lots of them blooming now around here. Makes for pretty purple fields

Finally found one of these #midwesternnative beauties for myself at Specialty Growers...just in time for the Brighton Garden Club to hack off the seed heads from the one planted at the post office, guaranteeing that I would be unable to grow any from purloined post office seed. This is another unfussy one that likes sun or half-shade, damp or dry soil. #beemagnet #greatcolor

Here's one I think I have seeds for, I'll have to check💜

The garden club planted this beauty at the library but they deadhead ruthlessly so you don't have any chance of collecting seeds. @tinaaune are you asking me where I live? Nobody can tell if you don't tag them by putting @ in front of their username. If you mean me I'm in Zone 6...

@plantnerdikus @emch - I think you may have misunderstood @tinaaune comment! It says she might have seeds for this... as you stated it is a desired native. 🤷‍♀️

And - you don't have to tag the person who's feed it is... you, @emch, will automatically get a notification without the @symbol being used.
