Vaccinium corymbosum 'Sunshine Blue'

Have potted a blueberry bush and pink strawberries cant wait to get some fruit.... apprently the strawberries help as they keep the soil working

I would like to try berries. Do the blue berries fruit in the first season. Also are the birds a problem ....stealing fruit ? @emilyd

@deekay this is my first plant but my dad got fruit on his the first yr.. they say for the first two yrs to cut the flowers off so no fruit forms to give the plant a good root system but i cant wait lol and yes the birds also dogs can be a problem i think when the fruit is about to form that ill cover them with bird netting

@deekay they also like azalea mix because they love acid soil... hope that helps

Yeah, you are right about not wanting to cut the flowers off. That is too sad. Even a woman at Bunnings that I asked said dont do it...let nature take its course. I think I will try some. I have bird netting already. Thanks @emilyd
