#plantid- Is it possible to make an ID from this picture? It feels a bit like a sedum of some kind, but I don’t know. I actually got it from a vase at a hotel, I noticed it had grown roots so I asked if I could have one. Would be great to know if I should leave it out in the garden next winter or if it perhaps isn’t quite hardy enough.
It looks like a variety of Kalanchoe but I'll have a little investigate for you 👍🏻🌱👍🏻
@mrsflowerpot , @gjones - I see now that you are probably right. And that most likely means I'll have one more plant to overwinter in the orangery next year (or more, if I "accidently" divide it)
Thought of Kalanchoe too
Thank you @lifeonaroofterrace . My experience with kalanchoe begins and ends with the blossfeldiana type, as this is a popular, rather compact, houseplant here. When I saw the lovely tall cut flowers at the hotel, it didn't even occur to me that they could be related somehow. -Live and learn thanks to GT😊 -Is anyone able to help me narrow down which type of kalanchoe we could be looking at here? @mrsflowerpot @gjones
I had an investigate for you lastnight Mona and couldn't find anything that looked like your plant. Maybe @alovealoe has an idea??
Thanks @gjones . The only kalanchoes I've ever come across have flowers in rather tight clusters, while this one seemed to have somewhat larger ones spaced a bit more apart. Will be exciting to watch it grow and develop. Photographic proof will be provided😉
#Kalanchoe
The "cutting" I got (with permission) from a hotel vase before Christmas is thriving!
I have collected so many of my plants like this!
Nice to know I'm not the only one, @drumadixit The hotel staff definitely thought I was crazy, though...
Often I go to their nursery and request.. they oblige!
