#peruvianapple This is from last yearās #seeds, grown by my friend, Laurie. Tallest is about 6ā. The biggest one I own is 75ā, and is around 20 years old. @rudester1 They flower at night, Colors vary from green to grayish blue. Fruit is similar to #dragonfruit but sweeter, seeds look very similar.
Wow how fascinating. They look fantastic. They do resemble dragonfruit. I love plants that stay alive for many years. If you get any fruit Iād love to see what the skin and flesh look like. I use dragonfruit to juice. Can this fruit be used the same way? @fearlessthereforepowerful
@rudester1 Here is a video I made with the fruit my friend gave me - nothing great, but youāll see the difference between the 2 fruits. This has texture more like... potato? Almost gritty, but very sweet! https://youtu.be/alDzJ76WC6s
Oh wow Iām still so fascinated lol mother nature is so incredible. Thanks for the video. Iāll for sure have to grow this eventually. @fearlessthereforepowerful

Month old #seed-grown #propagation #peruvian-apple @rudester1 first row came from seeds of the fruit, I just put in soil to see that would happen... 😊
Cool 🌞
If you guys knew me a few years ago... I couldnāt grow anything without a face🙃 this is HUGE progress! @dirtgirlworld @sunlovin 🎉🎉🎉
With practice comes success 😉👍 Sometimes I just wing it to see what happens, and it grows! 😁
Looks great 👍 @fearlessthereforpowerful
Aww thank you guys!💚💚💚
Happy little plant babies. Great looking progress. For a month old they look big compared to dragonfruit at that stage. So exciting! @fearlessthereforepowerful

#propagation #peruvianapplecactus #cactilove and I wonāt bother showing you the rest of this guy... heās in 5 sections 😂😂😂
How long from seed to fruiting stage with this guy? Do they produce fairly quickly? @fearlessthereforepowerful
@rudester1 iām not entirely sure how long from seed to fruiting. Iām sure a lot of it has to do with growth rate of the plant and the region where you live. This guy was about 5 feet tall when we cut him down to #prop his body like that. Only one section didnāt root, but we transplanted him from one garden to another, that was quite a shock. Iāll post pix of year old babies and newly growing sprouts.

😂 I call him #VladTheImpaler Heaven help the delivery guy who isnāt paying attention!
I like your #exoskeletal a lot
It was really windy last night & poor #VladTheImpaler decided to lay down😬 Thankfully I have some heavy enough planks to support him, but😩😩😩 Heās #tall and #not-really-huggable. Letās hope he decides that #vertical is good.
Stay strong Vlad, stay safe
W😮W. That puppy is HUGE 😍 over the miles hug 😘 @fearlessthereforpowerful
Thatās a beautiful sight! But it seems strange to me seeing cactus with grass.😳 Just shows how adaptable they are. 🌞
@cyndi Iām having a sign made that says #freehugs Had to move his pot over a couple feet, delivery guys kept inadvertently meeting him when he was next to the driveway 😬
@thehardygardener @cyndi @crabby58 @dirtgirlworld @sunlovin thanks for the well wishes💚💚💚 I pointed one of my cameras right at him & now check him every couple hours. So far, heās doing just fine😊 #FreeHugsFromVlad
Omgoodness. @cyndi Iām SO getting him a cape😂😂😂
