Why is my #watchchain so thin and #sad compared to all y’all’s??? Granted, I first got it a couple years ago when I had no idea what I was doing & it really fried, but it’s still just so thin😞
@dirtworldgirl it sat wit eastern sun all summer, outside. I’m guessing needed more water, just was never healthy after getting really burned the first summer I had it. I may repot this spring and fertilize better to see what happens, or just start fresh. 🤷🏻♀️
Ah my watch chain did this, so I got the scissors, haircuts all round, the clippings became new plants fir gifts, in tiny pots new compost really boosted all the plants up. Some TLC and new compost, hope this helps
Thank you @thehardygardener I’ll try this after the winter dormancy passes. If you saw the whole plant, I nearly threw it out thinking I killed it - it’s all brown at root level! But it kept sprouting, so it looks really ragged 😞. Will do it good to start over and prop the good parts. Maybe if I cut out what’s icky in the middle, some good will grow from the roots as well. I appreciate it🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
When these get older, they start looking scraggly and the stems turn brown. If you want it to look lush, trim the ends and propagate them in new containers.

Your very welcome, I love that we grow some of the same plants. Mine indoors, ahem Scotland! Yours outside, much much warmer!
@thehardygardener Scotland is on my list of places to visit if ever the world is safe again. Perhaps one day soon...
