Help me with this #plantid. This plant grows everywhere in a sunny corner of my garden. Every year I thin it out where I don't want it. It gets about 3' tall if i don't pinch it back. All spring it's had burgundy foliage. This time of year it gets these charming upside-down yellow flowers.
I have that same weed in my garden that keeps coming back, despite my best efforts to pull it out. I'm keen on knowing what it is too. @tiggrx @mikethegardener any ideas?
I've been cultivating it for years. It's really quite manageble. I just pull up the ones i don't want in the spring. I like the burgundy color that it brings to that section.
@FenwayGardener @MelanieAt it's a Lysimachia, L. ciliata I think.
Thank you. It makes me look like i know what I'm doing when i can name plant's. ;)
This Fringed loosestrife (Lysimachia ciliata) is quite prolific but easily pulled up. Thinned out & pinched back to the 1st set of leaves in May keeps them short, full & well behaved. Look how nice they are when kept under 2'
