@franshinegee I'm just curious, has your outer leaves (not just the flowers) ever turned a beautiful deep pink, but still has the pattern of the leaves still, but even the inner deeper green gets glazed over with pink too? I've had my plant for 10 years or so, and mine has just started doing this the past 3 months or so in areas of the plant turning very deeply pink, and hints of the pink are showing slightly around the edges on many other leaves too. It's really neat, and I am just curious.

Mine is probably 10+ years old and has never had pink on its leaves - too bad though - sounds beautiful - maybe It's a maturity thing and I'll get lucky too. 😉 It's always possible that it's cross pollinating with a nearby weigela with those characteristics... @rachellescott (I just looked at your pics again - it is really beautiful, fingers crossed)

@franshinegee you are probably right about the maturity and perhaps cross pollinating as well. Either way, I'll take it :) Even when it wasn't pink, this plant has always been one of my favorites. Your plant is beautiful too, and just the way it is now!!! :)
