@fuchsia Far be it for me to disagree with @justin but I don't think it's grass I think it's #juncus common #rush. I've had umpteen invasion of rush over the years living so close to the river and the fact that it's insignificant brown flowers form along the stem is distinctive and it has a rounded stem rather than flat like grass. There's a lot of seeds blowing around as many people put it in ponds only to discover it is quite invasive. Could be wrong 🤔
Juncus Maritimus is probably what it is @angipangi . I live on an island and the sea is literally at the end of my road. Actually its the mouth of the River Thames 😁
@fuschia At a guess I would say Canvey Island. I've been in Essex on hols many years ago but I was staying in Frinton on Sea. I drove all the way down with a break at Nottingham but drove the whole over 700miles back home in one day. Bad idea. Was in my bed for a day & felt like someone had taken a stick and beaten me. Never again. All I know about Canvey Island is what I've seen in TV documentaries.
Yes @angipangi Mo , it is Canvey Island . Wow thats a big journey for one day 😥. I enjoy living here but it has been built on so much since we came here from Romford area 44 years ago 🙄
These grow great here on the coast 👍
