Fat Jap pushing out plenty of new leaves. I might still go for a horticultural fleece teepee for its first Winter outdoors 🤔 #fatsia-spiders-web #gimpshadegarden

Beautiful leaves 💚

I love it @kez001uk 😀 The leaves get progressively more green speckled as they mature. And it's not shy about putting on growth. Must be the right plant in the right place! 🎉🎉🎉

@gardengimp sounds like one for the wish list 😛 gotta love a fast grower too! Sounds like it is in its happy place 😁
21 new leaves growing this year 07/05/20 North facing border, near house wall. #fatsia #fatsia-spiders-web #gimpshadegarden
This is such a gorgeous plant 😍 love how different the new growth is 💚
It is Kerry!☺ I'm hoping it will realise its full potential. Its not as big as 'normal' fatsia but we'll see what happens 😀 The more variegated whiter leaves at the bottom grew this time last year, and the greener ones you can see in the middle developed in mid Summer when it received most morning sunlight. @kez001uk
@gardengimp oh it is a fully sized one then 😜 figured cos it was unusual that it’d be small. Dunno why 😂 on my wish list now 😛
@kez001uk no, I've only had it a year, it should get to about a metre tall this year and then I've heard they reach around 1.5 metres around these parts. 2 metres would be awesome 😃
@gardengimp that’s a nice size! Reckon I could stick one in a pot 😛 where do you have it growing?
@kez001uk I've got it growing in my slightly north east facing border about a metre from the house. It would look great in a pot. You could always put it in a bigger pot if it outgrows it, probably get bigger the more South you are ☺
@gardengimp I think so too 😛 could have just the spot for one too 😋
