Slow to establish but getting there. 11 for a tenner from an old lady flogging them in her front garden last year.

How do you care for it @gardengimp

@bookworm68 it's in a bed with equal parts topsoil, compost and grit. They like a sunny position but are quite slow to get going. There's no pruning needed, just run your fingers through in March and pull any loose dead leaves away. These probably won't reach their full potential 'cos my soil is too alkaline, they prefer it slightly acidic.

Thankyou for your info very helpful, ,👍

My pleasure @bookworm68 :)

Forgot to say full sun is best, or partial shade @bookworm68

Mine is under on of my silver birches,👍

I adore this grass. Ive puted some white rockies around it. Made a perfect contrast

Thats a good idea @lilium, I was thinking of using purple slate when I've finished planting grasses
I've got a drain cover in the shade border, not ideal, so I've bunged the #ophiopogonplaniscapusnigrescens around the edges. Eventually maybe a bird bath to go on top? #gimpshadegarden
Great idea Graham 👍👍
I thought it the best idea to use ophiopogon, in case Yorkshire Water need to come and unblock our drains at some point. Minimal damage. There's a clump of Ajuga at the other side. Or did you mean about the bird bath? 😄@pelly
Wow this plant looks badass
No I meant the Black Mondo, but a bird bath would look good. I’ve got a big Lobster pot on mine..........don’t ask 😂😂😂
You can't have too much of it @xzellay 👍🏻😀
Ooh a lobster pot 🤔 Terrible bird bath, great ornament! 😄 @pelly
