#thalictrumaquilegifolium now 5ft tall. Needed some creative staking to keep upright after last week's winds.

It is! This is the kind of growth I'd expect in its first year Kerry, but this must be year 3 or 4. There was a huge fat stem with a monster clump of buds that I believe has been hit by a small falling tree branch from the horse chestnut above 😭😭 Hoping it throws a few more out to compensate! @kez001uk Swipe to see last years flowers 😊👍

@gardengimp noooo 😫 I just looked back and it’s so pretty! A shame you won’t get a display like that this year. But least you know it’ll get better and better, if the damn horse chestnut stops being an arse! 😂

@kez001uk Haha! 😁 You're right it will recover but its going to be down to a spin of an imaginary roulette wheel in future years if an old branch drops on it or not! It'll be 2 years next year since I saw a big display, but hey ho that's gardening! 😊

@gardengimp think most of it is luck 😂 used to get upset, but now try look at it as a good reason for a new plant 😉

#thalictrum #thalictrumaquilegifolium just gets better every year, probably better mass planted if there’s room, which I don’t.

@MelanieAt they're undeservedly underrated I think. I have Thalictrum Rochebrunianum too, just hoping it doesn't suffer toddler, ball or cat damage before it's flowered! I've been waiting about 11 months 😁
