My re-attempt at growing an Christmas tree. Bought for £12. Put in a larger pot, good drainage and John Innes No.3 (was recommended). Normally put them straight in ground & kill them 😥 #christmas #trees #pot #gardening #green
I use std compost, but give her a feed occasionally when we feed the other pots in summer. She seems happy enough but possibly will need repotting next year @beckers1974
@Gardeningian @hayleyaj I have a couple in the back, which is north-facing and shady and seem happy and a tiny one out front (south-facing) that doesn't seem to have any intention of growing bigger - but is healthy. The one I planted in the ground (acid soil over clay) died, even though it got good sun. One's roots broke through a wooden planter over summer, so I repotted into a new huge pot and repaired the old one for violas.

I have one in a pot that's now 3 Christmas's old, originally bought from Sainsburys. They are quite happy in a pot 😍
Mine are far happier in pots. I use acid soil though - am I wrong in that?

@hayleyaj @beckers1974 Will mine be ok in a shady spot?

It should be fine in the shade, I move mine around 😊
