Looks like Miscanthus sinensis George #georgegxg common name zebra grass you should find a few green blades still in their with a very light diagonal line across them. Lovely grass tops with a light purple hint. You should cut right down to the ground in March then new shoots appear within weeks can be moved and split quite easily. Mine was never invasive.
