I'm a guy from Quebec who loves gardening. I don't know much yet other than don't kill the things you want to keep, rip out everything else. I'm trying to start an indoor garden

Paeonia x suffruticosa 'Kokuryu-nishiki' syn. Paeonia x suffruticosa 'Black Dragon Brocade'

I want to move my tree peony, but I'm too scared to hurt the roots. Any advice?

Dig out a big root ball wide and deep then make sure you plant it at the depth @happy-orc

@carolgs thanks! Still super terrifying, though. They say they are hardy plants, but what if I accidentally murder it? 😰

Move as much ground with it as you can. Just a tip, if something flowers in spring, move and divide in the fall. If it flowers later, move and divide in the spring.

I've always heard that you should cut the root ball as the wide as the branches are wide.
